Hello again. Things have been going well! The team and I got approval on some really big things coming to a Facebook app near you. I can’t talk about it just yet, but hopefully later this year once it’s released I’ll be able to talk all about it. Life at Facebook has been pretty sweet, ngl. Management is very hands off and trusting, we have a core set of meetings and then are free to make our own as we see fit, everyone is extremely communicative and eager to help. I can feel alot of great things coming out of this team, not to mention we’re expanding like crazy with 3 new hires added just last week and more on the way. It’s exciting to have joined before the madness and set up all the foundational knowledge alongside my partners.
In other random news, I rewatched one of my most nostalgic disney movies, Ducktales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp. Brought me back to simpler times before social media, work, and responsibility. Back when I’d just play outside all day and every big school break go to disney with my family. This was the movie my sister and I would pump ourselves up with. I’m pretty sure we had it on VHS and would play it in the car on the way to Orlando. Yes, my dad was one of the first adopters of the Car TV mounted to the inside of the roof in the early 2000s. What a legend. That thing came in clutch so many times. Makes me miss those days…But I can’t really complain. So far working at Facebook has been like working in an adult playground. Stuff to do, pizza to eat, things to see, and endless things to learn.
